After her win at the Midlands Champs, Beth has continued her fantastic season, winning the West Midlands Mini Marathon trials, finishing fourth in the English Nationals at Parliament Hill, and second at the mudfest which was the Intercounties at Loughborough. She has certainly managed to put Wenlock on the map, but we have had good representation at all the big races this spring.
Other successes include Manali and Louix who both had top 10 finishes in the British Schools Biathlon Champs, Edith who took silver in the Midlands 5k Champs, Emily, Lucy and Leonie with their 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the Ercall Hill races, and Imogen competing in what was I think her first half marathon at Ironbridge. Apologies if I’ve missed anyone out – we’re always happy to hear about individual successes.
Remember, you can keep your distance running up throughout the summer – there are 5k parkruns every Saturday, the TAC organised Sexarathon series for over 15s, junior fell races organised by Mercia Fell Runners and plenty of other fun runs and junior races at local events.
We still have the weather-delayed U11 XC Champs to look forward to and watch this space for an exciting new event…..!
