Bridgnorth sportshall results

Congratulations to our U11B who came first. All our other teams performed well: U11G and U13G were second and the rest all got third places. By my calculations, this puts us in overall second behind Bridgnorth.

The next competition is on Sunday 20 November, starting at 2pm, at Wenlock. Invitations will be going out after half term – it is important that we have full teams.

Help needed 6 November

We need plenty of volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the cross country races on Sunday 6 November. Specifically:
Course setting up 9.30 – 12.30. No experience required, full guidance given. We need to mark out the course with posts and tape.
Catering 12.00 – 4.00, in the pavilion.
Marshalling 1.00 – 4.00, on the course to guide athletes in the right direction.
Clearing up 3.00 – 4.00. We are using public areas so everything must be tidied away.
If we have sufficient volunteers it will be possible for helpers to watch their children compete.
Please text Ian on 07740838896 or email leaving name, contact number and availability.

The first sportshall competition is 13 October at Oldbury Wells School in Bridgnorth. Invitations have gone out, so please let us know if you can/ can’t make it. Competition starts at 2pm with races, followed by field events and relays. Finish around 4 pm. Points are awarded for every A and B performance, and all points count towards overall positions. Good luck to all our athletes.

SYAL XC Bridgnorth results

Fabulous winning run by Beth and a great 3rd place for Ruari. Congratulations to the U11G and U15G who both got 3rd  place and the U13G who came second. A much improved turnout by the U11B gave them 4th. By my calculations the U13G and U15G are lying in 3rd overall. Full results at

The next XC race is our home match at Wenlock on 6 Nov. We need plenty of runners and helpers. Requests for setting up/ marshalling etc will go out at training – please help if you can.

Details of SYAL Bridgnorth XC 9 Oct

The races take place at Oldbury Wells School, Oldbury Wells, Bridgnorth, WV16 5JD. There is parking available in the school grounds.

The course is split into two sections – flattish loop(s) on the playing fields – and a rough field which is full of short, steep hill sections. If we get any further details before Sunday, they’ll be posted but if you haven’t run the course before it is worth getting there early enough to walk it. When you arrive look out for Dean, Matty and your team mates. No numbers needed (except for U17) but don’t forget club vests. Good luck!
