First sportshall match

The first match took place at the new Oldbury Wells sports hall on 18 October. It was a solid start by all our teams: the U11G, U13B and U15B were 3rd; the U13G and U15G 2nd and the U11B came first on the day. Overall the girls are in 2nd and the boys 3rd, with the club lying  – just – in 2nd place overall. It’s very close and of course we are the reigning champions! Next match is at Wenlock on 15 November.

Sportshall League

The first sportshall match is at Bridgnorth (Oldbury Wells – note the new venue!) on Sunday 18 October. Cards and e mails have gone out – please let team managers know immediately if you are unable to compete.

SYAL CROSS COUNTRY

The second race was held on October 11 at Bridgnorth. Many thanks to everyone who turned up: we had larger teams in nearly every category (although unfortunately so did everyone else!) Well done to the U11B and U15B who improved their positions to 2nd, the U13G maintained their strong 3rd, the U17W slipped to 2nd but remain in the overall lead. As a club we are lying 2nd in the girls competiton, 3rd in the boys and 3rd overall. The next match is our home fixture at Wenlock on November 8. Please support it if you can.

SYAL Cross Country

The first cross country race of the league was held in glorious sunshine at Oswestry on September 27. We didn’t have a full turnout which affected our overall position, but there were some good individual performances. Special mention to the U11B and U13G who came 3rd and the ‘legendary’ U17W who came 1st. Next race is at Bridgnorth on October 11 – best of luck to all runners.
